Mandela Barnes doesn’t want your vote.
Bad news for voters in Adams, Buffalo, Columbia, Crawford, Dunn, Forest, Grant, Jackson, Juneau, Kenosha, Lafayette, Lincoln, Marquette, Pepin, Price, Racine, Richland, Sauk, Sawyer, Trempealeau, Vernon and Winnebago Counties:
Mandela Barnes doesn’t want your vote.
Those counties make up big parts of northern and western Wisconsin, and all voted for Barack Obama twice for President before supporting for Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020. But in talking about Wisconsin voters, Mandela Barnes said this:
“If they voted for Obama then they voted for Trump, and they’re still with him, they can — you can keep ’em.”
That’s a pretty shocking thing for a candidate running to represent the whole state in the United State Senate to say. Especially when you consider those counties cast 16 percent of the total votes in the last election.
Mandela Barnes actions back up his words. He supports the Green New Deal that would crush family farms in many of these counties, has supported the Abolish ICE and Defund the Police movements even as drug overdoses crush rural Wisconsin, and even thinks the founding of America was “awful.”
No wonder Mandela Barnes would rather have the support of people like AOC and Ilhan Omar than hard-working people of Wisconsin.
